Have you ever thought about this quote? "Actions speak louder than words."
It is funny because I think back to my childhood when I loved playing with American Girl Dolls. I was that child who had a grandma who thought I needed each of the dolls and I needed each of the accessory items that went with the dolls, so thanks grandma! Way back when, playing with one of the dolls, Molly, I remembered reading the book that went along with her set. In the book, she was stitching together a picture that had "actions speak louder than words" quote as its design. Growing up, that stuck with me numorous times, but for some reason, I woke up thinking about the quote this morning.
What exactly does this quote mean? Is it even true? I am a girl, I over analyze everything and I am not afraid to admit that. But, really...do actions speak louder than words?
In life, I think there are many times that people use their words to manipulate and get what they want. People say things they don't mean, when they are both happy and angry. How many times in life have we heard, "I am sorry to have said that when I was mad" or "regardless of what I said when I was angry" or "I love you with all my heart." Words aren't always truthful, hence why lying exists or miscommunication happens.
However, don't actions have the same result? Can't actions be lies as well and forms of miscommunication? People do certain actions to please themselves, but sometimes they do certain actions to please others, even if it is something they personally don't want to do.
Both actions and words have their pros and cons...both can be so uplifting and wonderful and both can be hurtful. I am not sure what prompted me to write on this topic, but it was something on my mind, so I guess, why not?
